Michael C. Hall will headline a one-night-only reading of Will Eno's play Gnit on June 20 at 7pm at Classic Stage Company. Adapted from Henrik Ibsen’s Peer Gynt, the play is presented as part of CSC's First Look Festival: Ibsen in conjunction with the company's current production of Peer Gynt.

Directed by Oliver Butler, the reading will also feature performances by Hannah Bos, Cindy Cheung, Kris Kling, Carolyn McCormick, and Danny Wolohan. Best known as Dexter Morgan on the Showtime series Dexter, Hall was last seen onstage in the New York Theatre Workshop world premiere of the David Bowie musical Lazarus. In 2015, he took on the title role in Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway. He also starred in the 2014 Broadway production of Will Eno's comedy The Realistic Joneses.

CSC's Peer Gynt, directed by John Doyle, began performances May 11 and runs through June 19. The cast features Becky Ann Baker, Dylan Baker, George Abud, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Gabriel Ebert, Adam Heller, and Jane Pfitsch. The story follows young Peer from childhood renegade to outcast, adventurer, industrialist, and provocateur as he searches for a life that will live up to his impossible and irrepressible expectations.
