Atlantic Theater Company Announces Casting for Middle Eastern MixFest

The festival will run August 8-16.

Atlantic Theater Company has announced casting for Middle Eastern MixFest, a series of free readings cocurated by playwrights Mona Mansour and Heather Raffo. The event will run August 8-16 at Atlantic Stage 2.

The plays included are as follows:

Salim Salim by Stav Palti-Negev, directed by Kareem Fahmy. The company will include Yuval Boim, Caitlin Nasema Cassidy, Amel Khalil, O'mer Koren, Peter Romano, Louis Sallan and Babak Tafti. (August 9 at 3pm)

Scenes From 70 Years by Hannah Khalil, directed by Pirronne Yousefzadeh. The company will include Sahar Bibyan, Hana Chamoun, Peter Ganim, Sevan K. Greene, Rendah Heywood, Ahmad Maksoud, Sade Namei, Jonathan Raviv, Louis Sallan, and Rasha Zamamiri. (August 10 at 3pm)

One Acts: Scraps and Things by Melis Aker, The Halal Date by Younis Ali, McArabia by Sevan K. Greene, and Baba Karam by Sanaz Toosi, plus an excerpt from a new work by Heather Raffo, directed by Sivan Battat and Tracy Cameron Francis. Featuring Justin Ahdoot, Fajer Al-Kaisi, Dahlia Azama, Ayse Babahan, Leila Buck, Gamze Ceylan, Kimiye Corwin, Amr El-Bayoumi, Peter Falls, and Nicole Shalhoub. (August 13 at 7pm)

The Yacoubian Building by Kareem Fahmy, based on the novel by Alaa Al Aswany, directed by Melissa Crespo. It will feature Jacqueline Antaramian, May Calamawy, James Cusati-Moyer, Ashkon Davaran, Ahmad Maksoud, Louis Sallan, and Zenzi Williams. (August 14 at 2pm)

Falling Down the Stairs by Tala Manassah and Mona Mansour, directed by Omar Metwally. It will star Erin Anderson, Gamze Ceylan, Christy Escobar, Peter Ganim, Osh Ghanimah, Arash Mokhtar, Alex Salamat, Hadi Tabbal, and Rasha Zamamiri. (August 15 at 7pm)

Mrs. Ghada's Pain Threshold by Abdullah Alkafri, translated by Hassan Abdulrazzak, directed by Jenny Koons. It will feature Gaida Hinnawi, Antoinette LaVecchia, Heather Raffo, and Babak Tafti. (August 16 at 7pm)
