Midler and David Hyde Pierce rejoined the Broadway revival last night.

Last night, Bette Midler returned to the Shubert Theatre to reprise her Tony Award-winning role as Dolly Gallagher Levi in the Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly!…and no surprise, she was greeted with a standing ovation as soon as she appeared onstage. Check out video of the reception below.

Returning alongside Midler is David Hyde Pierce, who received Tony and Drama Desk Award nominations for his performance as Horace Vandergelder. The rest of the cast includes Gavin Creel (Cornelius Hackl), Kate Baldwin (Irene Molloy), Charlie Stemp (Barnaby Tucker), Molly Griggs (Minnie Fay), Will Burton (Ambrose Kemper), Melanie Moore (Ermengarde), and Alli Mauzey (Ernestina). Donna Murphy also returns to play Dolly at select performances.

Bernadette Peters took her final bow in the role of Dolly on July 15. Midler will remain with the show through the remainder of its run, which ends on August 25.

Directed by Jerry Zaks and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, Hello, Dolly! began previews March 15, 2017, and opened on April 20, 2017. Based on Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker, Michael Stewart and Jerry Herman's Hello, Dolly! premiered on Broadway in 1964, starring Carol Channing in the title role. This production received the 2017 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, as well as Tonys for Midler's and Creel's performances.
