Uzo Aduba, Danielle Brooks, Brian d'Arcy James Up for Screen Actors Guild Awards

A plethora of Broadway veterans have been nominated for 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards for their work in television and film.
Three-time Tony Award winner Mark Rylance leads the pack with two different SAG Award nominations, one in the category of Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in the Stephen Spielberg film Bridge of Spies; the other in Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries for his work as Thomas Cromwell in the film version of Wolf Hall.
Other film nominees with theatrical ties include Tony winners Bryan Cranston (All the Way) for Trumbo, Helen Mirren (The Audience) for Woman in Gold, and Eddie Redmayne (Red) for The Danish Girl; Brian d'Arcy James (Something Rotten!) alongside Mark Ruffalo (The Normal Heart), Liev Schreiber (Ray Donovan), Stanley Tucci (Lend Me a Tenor), and Billy Crudup (Waiting for Godot) for their ensemble work in Spotlight; and Hamish Linklater (Cymbeline), Rafe Spall (Betrayal), and Finn Wittrock (Death of a Salesman) for their ensemble work in The Big Short.
On the television side, Emmy winner Uzo Aduba (The Wiz Live!) is up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her performance in Orange Is the New Black, with Viola Davis (Fences), Peter Dinklage (A Month in the County), Kevin Spacey (A Moon for the Misbegotten), Claire Danes (Pygmalion), Edie Falco (The House of Blue Leaves), and Queen Latifah (The Wiz Live!) also having their names called in acting categories.
In the Best Ensemble category, Orange Is the New Black led the way with 18 stage veterans being nominated for their work: Aduba, Mike Birbiglia (Sleepwalk With Me), Marsha Stephanie Blake (Hurt Village), Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Catherine Curtin (Consent), Lea DeLaria (The Rocky Horror Show), Beth Fowler (The Boy From Oz), Joel Marsh Garland (Essential Self Defense), Kimiko Glenn (Waitress), Annie Golden (Violet), Adrienne C. Moore (Milk Like Sugar), Kate Mulgrew (Equus), Elizabeth Rodriguez (The Motherf*cker With the Hat), Taylor Schilling (A Month in the Country), Constance Shulman (Barbecue), Dale Soules (Shows for Days), and Yael Stone (Diary of a Mad Man).
