The Public Theater’s Lab will present Eric Rosen and Matt Sax’s musical Venice at the Anspacher Theater, May 28-June 23. The show, which features additional music by Curtis Moore, is set in a not-too-distant future where two brothers clash over how to save their city in the aftermath of a 20-year war.

The production, which will be directed by Rosen, features choreography by Sergio Trujillo, scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by Clint Ramos, lighting design by Jason Lyons, sound design by Acme Sound Partners, and projection design by Jason H. Rosen and Sax previously collaborated on the acclaimed solo hip-hop musical, Clay. Rosen is also the artistic director of Kansas City Repertory Theatre, where he previously staged the show. He also recently helmed a new production of Pippin there, starring his husband, Claybourne Elder.
