Tyne Daly, Quentin Earl Darrington, John Glover, and Kathleen Turner will appear at the Philadelphia Theatre Company’s annual gala to be held on Monday, June 6 in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyatt at the Bellevue.
In addition to the entertainment, the evening will feature remarks about the establishment of the Terrence McNally New Play Award. The prize, which will recognize a playwright who has written a full-length work that celebrates the transformative power of art, will be awarded annually beginning in 2012. It has been named for playwright McNally, author of such plays as Love! Valour! Compassion!, Lips Together, Teeth Apart, Master Class, The Ritz, and Some Men, as well as bookwriter for such musicals as Kiss of the Spider Woman, Ragtime, and Full Monty.
The evening will also tributes to the theater’s long-time board member Kenneth S. Kaiserman of Kaiserman Company, Inc. and PTC Producing Artistic Director Sara Garonzik.
