Troy Iwata to Play Shane Hollander in Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody

Troy Iwata will be the next actor to lace up as Shane Hollander in Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody, now performing off-Broadway at the Culture Club. He begins performances August 31.

Iwata made his off-Broadway debut in Be More Chill. He starred in the off-Broadway musical The Boy Who Danced on Air.

He succeeds Aaron Alcaraz, who finishes his run as Shane on August 30.

Iwata joins a cast that includes Jay Armstrong Johnson as Ilya Rozanov, with Ryann Redmond, Cherry Torres, and Ryan Duncan rounding out the ensemble. Shelby Acosta, Daniel Brackett, Dean Cestari, and Sujaya Sunkara are standbys.

Inspired by the sensational TV drama about secret gay hockey players in love, Heated Rivalry: The Unauthorized Musical Parody is written by Dylan MarcAurele (book, music, lyrics and orchestrations) and directed by Alan Kliffer.
