Tony Award winner Cady Huffman (The Producers), Tony nominee Gabriel Barre (Starmites), and entertainment columnist Michael Musto will join the cast of The Life + Death of Kenyon Phillips for its special four-performance engagement at The Box, beginning February 20. Isaac Klein, who assistant directed Broadway’s recent revivals of West Side Story and Gypsy, will serve as assistant director and dramaturg at the upcoming performances.

Huffman, who was most recently seen on Broadway in The Nance, will take on the role of Kenyon’s mother opposite Barre, who will play Kenyon’s father. Musto, returns to the show as himself and the evening's emcee.

The Life + Death of Kenyon Phillips is a 90-minute rock opera that uses an interactive cabaret-variety show format — complete with burlesquers, aerialists, and other circus acts — to explore the past, present and future of downtown performance artist Kenyon Phillips.

"Now the show can really let its freak flag fly," said Phillips. "Certain elements that I had to cut from the earlier versions at Joe’s Pub — like aerialists and tightrope walkers — can now be realized. And the new ending will have audience members up on their feet and singing."
