The new musical Glory Ride, featuring music, lyrics, and a book written by the father-and-daughter team of Todd and Victoria Buchholz, will receive an industry reading in Manhattan on January 8 and 9.

Directed by Tony nominee Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones, Xanadu), the cast will be led by Broadway veterans Alison Luff (Matilda), Tony nominee Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar), Quinn VanAntwerp (Jersey Boys), and Herndon Lackey (Les Misérables). The company also includes Russell Fischer, Robert Hager, Howard Kaye, Denis Lambert, Neal Mayer, Nora Menken, Spencer Moses, Chris Ramirez, Cliff Saunders, Jonathan Shew, and Stephen Zinnato. Greg Jarrett (Side Show) serves as music director.

Glory Ride tells the true story of a heroic conspiracy to sneak children out of Fascist Italy on bicycles. "We call it 'Les Mis meets Ocean’s Eleven,'" said Victoria Buchholz, whose travels through Tuscany inspired the project. "This fascinating story could rewrite how the world remembers the Italian Resistance during World War II." Buchholz is currently a law student at Stanford and a graduate of Cambridge University while her father and collaborator is a former White House adviser, NPR commentator, and best-selling author.
