Watch out, Vegas: Your most fabulous drag queens will soon have some stiff competition. Broadway’s new Cyndi Lauper-Harvey Fierstein musical Kinky Boots, recent recipient of six Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score, has announced plans to head to Sin City to launch its 2014 national tour.

Kinky Boots opened at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre on April 4 to high praise from New York theater critics. Inspired by the acclaimed British film and directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, the musical stars 2013 Tony Award nominee Stark Sands (American Idiot) as Charlie Price, a young man who must live up to his father’s legacy and save his family’s shoe factory after his father’s sudden death. When a fabulous drag queen named Lola (2013 Tony Award winner Billy Porter) arrives in need of a pair of sturdy stilettos, the pair realize they have more in common than they ever thought possible. The cast also includes 2013 Tony Award nominee Annaleigh Ashford, Celina Carvajal, Daniel Sherman, Marcus Neville, Paul Canaan, Kevin Smith Kirkwood, Kyle Taylor Parker, Kyle Post, Charlie Sutton, Joey Taranto, Andy Kelso, Tory Ross, Jennifer Perry, Adinah Alexander, Eric Anderson, Eugene Barry-Hill, Stephen Berger, Caroline Bowman, Cole Bullock, Sandra DeNise, Jonah Halperin, Eric Leviton, Ellyn Marie Marsh, John Jeffrey Martin, Marquise Neal, Nathan Peck, Robert Pendilla, Lucia Spina, Sebastian Hedges Thomas, and Timothy Ware.
