Lincoln Center Theater has confirmed that two-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane will return to the cast of Broadway’s The Nance tonight, July 25, following an injury he sustained during the June 24 performance.

As TheaterMania previously reported, the stage veteran, who won 2013 Outer Critics Circle and Drama League Awards for his performance as fading burlesque star Chauncey Miles, did not finish his performance, allowing standby Stephen DeRosa to perform the role for the rest of the show. In an interview today with The New York Times, Lane noted that he twisted his foot and leg after stepping off the set’s turntable at the wrong moment.

Douglas Carter Beane’s drama, directed by Jack O’Brien at the Lyceum Theatre, also stars Jonny Orsini, Lewis J. Stadlen, Cady Huffman, Andréa Burns, Jenni Barber, Mylinda Hull, and Geoffrey Allen Murphy.
