It has been announced that The New Group’s production of Jay Presson Allen’s The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie, starring Cynthia Nixon in the title role, will run through December 9 — a full month longer than the originally scheduled run.
Directed by Scott Elliott, the show is now in previews at Theatre Row and is slated to open officially on October 9. The cast also includes Richie Coster, Lisa Emery, Halley Wegryn Gross, Caroline Lagerfelt, John Pankow, Matthew Rauch, Emily Bicks, Betsy Hogg, Zoe Kazan, Caity Quinn, and Sarah Steele.
Earlier this week, The Public Theater announced that the rune of Neil LaBute’s solo play Wrecks, starring Ed Harris as a car dealer who has just lost his wife, has been extended three weeks through November 9. The show, which LaBute is directing, will open officially on October 10.
