The ASCAP Foundation to Honor Annie Lyricist Martin Charnin with Inaugural George M. Cohan Award

The honor will be presented at ASCAP’s 18th annual awards ceremony.

Tony Award-winning lyricist and director of Annie Martin Charnin will be presented with The ASCAP Foundation’s first-ever George M. Cohan Award at the foundation’s 18th annual awards ceremony on December 11. The invitation-only event, hosted by ASCAP Foundation President Paul Williams, will be held at Lincoln Center’s Allen Room, Frederick P. Rose Hall.

The George M. Cohan Award will be presented to “a multitalented individual connected to the music industry who has had a multifaceted career and achieved success in a variety of roles…” The ASCAP Foundation Awards will also honor a wide variety of scholarship and award recipients, all of whom benefit from programs of The ASCAP Foundation.

In addition to Annie, Charnin’s many Broadway credits include I Remember Mama (lyrics), The First (lyrics and direction), and The Flowering Peach (direction).
