The Philadelphia-based Flashpoint Theatre Company will kick off its 2010-2011 season with the premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s Run, Mourner, Run, October 27-November 21. Matt Pfeiffer will direct.
The play tells the story of Dean Williams, a young man who finds himself caught between the two richest men in a rural Carolina town. The choice he makes will destroy lives — maybe even his own.
Flashpoint’s season will also include David Sedaris’s The Santaland Diaries, adapted for the stage by Joe Mantello, directed by Noah Herman, and starring Derick Loafmann (December 1-19); Adam Rapp’s Nocturne, directed by Meghann Williams (February 2-26); and Quiara Alegría Hudes’ 26 Miles, directed by Kathryn MacMillan (May 4-28).
