Tony Award nominee Stephen Mangan will co-star opposite Matt LeBlanc on Showtime/BBC’s comedy series Episodes, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
The series centers on a successful British husband-and-wife comedy team (played by Mangan and Claire Forlani) who are thrilled by the prospect of producing a U.S. version of their hit series, but ultimately are forced to replace the erudite British lead from the original with a quintessential U.S. comedy star (LeBlanc).
Mangan received a Tony Award nomination for his Broadway debut in The Norman Conquests last season. In the U.K., he has appeared at London’s Royal Court, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and with Cheek by Jowl. On television, he starred in the series Free Agents and on screen, he has appeared in such films as Festival and Billy Elliot, in which he played the ballet doctor, Dr. Crane.
