Joe’s Pub hosted the Public Forum holiday tradition.
Last night, Joe's Pub at the Public Theater hosted a reading of The Long Christmas Dinner, a holiday tradition for the Public Forum season.
The cast of this year's reading featured Wilder’s nephew and literary executor, Tappan Wilder, along with Elizabeth Marvel, Stephen Karam, Eisa Davis, Chef Evan Hanczor, Tracy K. Smith, David Greenspan, and Cecilia Gentili.
In The Long Christmas Dinner, a one-act play by Thornton Wilder, the Bayard family experiences one hundred years of Christmas dinners, seeing triumph and heartbreak, birth and death, and a changing world – while some things, like family and tradition, remain constant.
