A Chekhov adaptation, Caryl Churchill’s ”Far Away”, and ”The Music Man” will come to the Connecticut theater.
Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 summer season, kicking off with Minor Character: Six Translations of Uncle Vanya (June 9-25), an adaptation of Chekhov's Uncle Vanya created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer). Directed by Morgan Green, the show's cast will feature Milo Cramer, Jamal Crowelle, Fernando Gonzalez, David Greenspan, Kennedy Kanagawa, Caitlin Morris, Anne Troup, and Madeline Wise.
Next will be Caryl Churchill's Far Away (July 7-23). Also directed by Morgan Green, its cast will include Mia Katigbak, Gabriel Levey, Madelynn Peterson, and Madeline Wise. The play is described as a "fable about a world where the line has disappeared between the normal and the fantastic, beauty and horror, plain talk and poetry."
The Sharon Playhouse season will conclude with a chamber production of Meredith Willson's The Music Man (August 4-20), celebrating the musical’s 60th anniversary as an American classic. The show will be directed by Morgan Green, with a cast featuring Robert Bannon, Jennie Boone, Arnie Burton, Myles Crain, Milo Cramer, Robert Johanson, Annie Mcnamara, Ethan Dubin, Rachel Eddy, Colin Gallaher, Tyler Gallaher, Lorelei Gnerre, Susan Hackel, Denise Johnson, Matthew Krob, Ben Langhorst, Helen Laser, Katelin Jeanette Lopes, Megan O’Callaghan, Larry Owens, Jacob Pressley, Becca Schneider, Elizabeth Thomas, Daniel Walstad, and Jessie Weil.
