Shakespeare in the Park’s As You Like It Adds Performance for Tuesday, June 19

The Public Theater has announced an additional performance of the Shakespeare in the Park production of As You Like It, to take place on Tuesday, June 19 at 8pm. Daniel Sullivan directs William Shakespeare’s comedy, which is performed in Central Park at the Delacorte Theater.

Free tickets to the performance are available, distributed two per person at the Delacorte at 1pm. The Public Theater also offers free tickets through the Virtual Ticketing lottery at www.shakespeareinthepark.org.

As You Like It centers on a young woman who follows her exiled father into the Forest of Arden and is herself followed by the man who loves her. Outside of the realm of the court, and disguised as a boy, Rosalind is able to teach her suitor the meaning of true love.


The cast will include Brendan Averett (Charles), Andre Braugher (Duke Senior/Duke Frederick), Donna Lynne Champlin (Audrey), Jon DeVries (Corin), MacIntyre Dixon (Adam), Susannah Flood (Phoebe), David Furr (Orlando), Renee Elise Goldsberry (Celia), Robert Joy (Le Beau/Lord), Jesse Lenat (Amiens), Omar Metwally (Oliver), Oliver Platt (Touchstone), Lily Rabe (Rosalind), Will Rogers (Silvius), Michael Rudko (First Lord), Stephen Spinella (Jaques), and Brendan Titley (William), along with Grantham Coleman, Andrew Hovelson, Erik Mathew, Justine Salata, Paul Saylor, and Anna Phyllis Smith.

The creative team for As You Like It will include scenic designer John Lee Beatty, costume designer Jane Greenwood, lighting designer Natasha Katz, and sound designers Acme Sound Partners.


In addition, Steve Martin will compose original music for the production. The band will feature Tashina Clarridge (fiddle), Jordan Tice (guitar), Tony Trischka (banjo), Skip Ward (bass), and musical direction by Tony Trischka. Greg Pliska will also provide original music for the production.
