Irish Repertory Theatre has announced a second extension for Woody Sez: The Life & Music of Woody Guthrie, directed by Nick Corley. The production, which began performances on June 1 with an opening night on June 8, will now run through September 10.

Woody Sez follows the life of Woody Guthrie through songs like "This Land Is Your Land" and "So Long, It's Been Good to Know Yuh." Not only was Woody a seminal influence on Bob Dylan and Joan Baez; he also inspired generations of Irish folk singers like the Clancy Brothers and Christy Moore. His songs may have told the stories of the disenfranchised in the Dust Bowl, but his recurrent themes speak of famine, workers' rights, and emigrant strife.

The current cast features Darcie Deaville (Back Bog Beast Bait), David Finch (Cabaret), David M. Lutken (Southern Comfort), and Helen J. Russell (Ring of Fire).

The production features lighting design by Michael Gottlieb, set design by Luke Hegel-Cantarella, costume design by Jeffrey Meek, and music direction by Lutken.
