Roundabout Underground Will Return in 2027 With the World Premiere of The Blue Parts

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the return of Roundabout Underground, ahead of the 20th anniversary of the Underground in the fall of 2027, with the world premiere of The Blue Parts by Liba Vaynberg and directed by Lee Sunday Evans.

Roundabout will also introduce pay-what-you-wish, starting at $10, for Underground productions, beginning with The Blue Parts.

The Blue Parts will run February 18, 2027-April 18, 2027, with an official opening on March 11, at the Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre.

In The Blue Parts, when a powerful storm traps Marina in her store with a teenager petitioning to Save The Whales, they have to swim the gulf between them.

The cast and creative team will be announced at a later date.

A part of Roundabout’s New Play Initiative, Roundabout Underground returns with its 20th Underground production. The last Roundabout Underground production was Covenant by York Walker in 2023. Previous Roundabout Underground productions include Stephen Karam’s Speech & Debate, Adam Gwon’s Ordinary Days, Joshua Harmon’s Bad Jews, and Sanaz Toossi’s English.
