
Complete casting has been announced for the national tour of West Side Story as it begins its second year. David Saint, recreating Arthur Laurents’ original staging, has directed the production, which has Jerome Robbins’ original choreography recreated by Joey McKneeley.
Based on Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the show, set in 1950s New York, has a book by Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
The company stars Ross Lekites (Tony) and Evy Ortiz (Maria), as well as Michelle Aravena (Anita), German Santiago (Bernardo), Drew Foster (Riff), Jay Garcia (Chino), Mike Boland (Schrank), Jon Drake (Action), Stephen DeRosa (Glad Hand), Wally Dunn (Krupke), Alexandra Frohlinger (Anybodys), Casey Garvin (Diesel), Nathan Keen (Big Deal), Harris Milgrim (Snowboy), John O’Creagh (Doc), Christopher Rice (Baby John), and Clay Thomson (A-rab).
The ensemble includes Karolina Blonski, Alicia Charles, Lauryn Ciardullo, Dean Andre de Luna, Lori Ann Ferreri, Ryan Ghysels, Tim Hausmann, Nicole Hellman, Laura Irion, Thayne Jasperson, Gizel Jimenez, Eric Anthony Johnson, Patrick Ortiz, Kristen Paulicelli, Christie Portera, Waldemar Quinones-Villanueva, Alexandra Blake Redelico, Michael Scirrotto, Jeffrey C. Sousa, Dani Spieler, Jessica Swesey, Kathryn Lin Terza and Kirstin Tucker.
The creative team includes scenic designer James Youmans, costume designer David C. Woolard, lighting designer Howell Binkley, and sound designer Dan Moses Schreier.
