Former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich will join the cast of The Second City’s Rod Blagojevich Superstar for a benefit performance at Chicago Shakespeare Theater on Navy Pier, on Saturday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m.

The show, by Ed Furman (book) and T.J. Shanoff (music and lyrics), is a musical account of the scandals that rocked Blagojevich’s administration. Matt Hovde directs, with musical direction by Boaz Reisman and choreography by Lisa McQueen. The former governor will join the cast to announce an extension of the show, and to participate in a post-show improv set.

A portion of the ticket proceeds for this performance will go to Gilda’s Club Chicago, which offers support for everyone living with cancer.
