Goodspeed Musicals has announced that Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli (Jekyll & Hyde) will play Scrooge in a newly revised edition of A Connecticut Christmas Carol, returning to the Terris Theatre November 30-December 30.
Featuring a book by L.J. Fecho, with music and lyrics by Michael O'Flaherty, the show is described as follows: "Some of the most beloved storytellers in Connecticut history come alive for a yuletide gathering you won't forget. Famed actor and local legend William Gillette leaves his castle on the Connecticut River to adapt Dickens' holiday classic in the 1920s. Local heroes Mark Twain, Harriet Beecher Stowe, and P.T. Barnum make spirited appearances opposite Gillette's Scrooge in a highly theatrical twist on a family favorite. Custom-made for Goodspeed with all-original music, here's a tuneful, heartfelt confection spiced with enough Nutmeg State flavor to sweeten your season."
Hunter Foster will return to direct the production, which will feature Matt Gibson as Bob Cratchit, Michael Thomas Holmes as the Ghosts, and Robbie Berson as Tiny Tim. The ensemble will include Jimmy Brewer, Samantha Bruce, Lee Harrington, Noah Plomgren, Celeste Rose, Alex Stewart, Jeff Williams, and Daisy Wright.
Orchestrations are by Dan DeLange, with music by Dan Pardo and choreography by Lisa Shriver. The creative team also includes Adam Koch (scenic design), Nicole V. Moody (costume design), Jen Schriever (lighting design), Jay Hilton (sound design), and Mark Adam Rampmeyer (wig and hair design).
