Chicago's Victory Gardens Theatre has announced the productions that will make up its 42nd season.
Kicking off its 2016-2017 lineup is the Chicago premiere of Robert Askins' Tony-nominated comedy Hand to God, directed by Gary Griffin. It runs September 16-October 16.
Next on the list is Karen Hartman's Roz and Ray, directed by Chay Yew and running November 11-December 11. The mounting is a co-world premiere production with Seattle Repertory Theatre. Following that are a pair of world premieres: Marcus Gardley's A Wonder in My Soul (February 10-March 12) and Madhuri Shekar's Queen (April 14-May 14). The productions are directed by Chay Yew and Joanie Schultz, respectively.
Four Chicago premieres are also on the list. Marti Lyons' production of Karen Zacarias' Native Gardens runs June 2-July 2, followed by the Victory Gardens Theater Bonus Series productions of Aaron Davidman's Wrestling Jerusalem, Luis Alfaro's St. Jude, and Arlene Malinowski's A Little Bit Not Normal''.
