Read Lin-Manuel Miranda's 3 Drama Desk Acceptance-Speech Poems

The ”Hamilton” creator pulled a hat trick at last night’s ceremony and left some rhymes in his wake.

In the words of Maury Yeston, "What a magnificent achievement." The Tony Award-winning composer had the pleasure of announcing Lin-Manuel Miranda's name three times at last night's Drama Desk Award ceremony at New York City's Town Hall. Miranda, creator of the Broadway-bound (and now Drama Desk Award-winning) musical Hamilton, earned awards for his book, music, and lyrics, all within the span of approximately five minutes.

Miranda prepared fresh speeches for each trip to the podium, but in true Miranda form, they all came with their own rhyme schemes and were all blissfully short. Presumably, there is still one more acceptance poem for Outstanding Actor (which he lost to An American in Paris' Robert Fairchild) lingering in Miranda's jacket pocket. So Lin, if you're reading this, the world wants to know whom you'd like to thank for your acting chops — and in what meter.

Ron Chernow wrote a wondrous book, really it's one for the ages
I wasn't sure I had what it took to adapt over eight hundred pages
Jeffrey and Tommy believed I could, sharpened it where it was blurry
But this is for John Weidman, who every year told me to shut up and hurry
