JamRock Productions has announced that following its sold-out run at Soho Playhouse in 2023, Race: The Movie: The Play, created by Cristian Duran and Bret Raybould and directed by Duran, will return to the New York stage. It will run June 17-July 12 at Asylum NYC.

The creative team includes lighting designer Amina Alexander, video and sound designer Ian Scot Williams, and creative consultant Jason Aguirre. Kathryn Krull will be playing piano.

Casting will be announced at a later date.

In this screwball satire of prestige Hollywood race dramas, brilliant Black musician Gene Yus is on a concert tour through the Deep South of the 1850s escorted by Wyatt Saveyer, a rough-around-the-edges white chauffeur. What begins as a familiar awards-season drama quickly spirals into chaos, exploding into a slapstick parody.
