PS Classics to Record Broadway Assassins

PS Classics has announced that it will record and release a cast album of the Roundabout Theatre Company’s Broadway production of the Stephen Sondheim-John Weidman musical Assassins.

The cast of the show includes Becky Ann Baker, James Barbour, Mario Cantone, Michael Cerveris, Mary Catherine Garrison, Alexander Gemignani, Neil Patrick Harris, Marc Kudisch, Jeffrey Kuhn, and Denis O’Hare. The album will be recorded on June 7 and is expected to be released sometime in July.

Of the project, Tommy Krasker, co-founder (with Philip Chaffin) of PS Classics, said: “Having just worked with Steve [Sondheim] and John [Weidman] on the cast album of Bounce, I’m delighted to be headed back into the studio with them. Philip and I thought the production was extraordinary and exactly the kind of performance that very much demands to be preserved on disc.”
