Stephen Rea and Elissa Piszel will star in The Public Theater’s production of Kicking a Dead Horse, written and directed by Pulitzer Prize winner Sam Shepard to run June 25- August 10, with an official opening on July 14.
The play is about the West, a Manhattan art dealer named Hobart, a young woman, and a dead horse. The production will feature set design by Brien Vahey, lighting design by John Comiskey, and costume design by Joan Bergin.
Shepard won the Pulitzer for Buried Child. His other plays include Curse of the Starving Class, Tongues, True West A Lie of the Mind, and Simpatico
