PHOTO FLASH: Harvey Fierstein, Jeremy Jordan, Kara Lindsay, and the Newsies Cast Celebrate Release of Cast Recording

Members of the cast and creative team of the Broadway musical Newsies celebrated the release of the musical’s Original Cast Recording with a performance and album signing at the 86th Street Barnes and Noble on Friday, June 22.

Cast members Jeremy Jordan, Kara Lindsay, Ben Fankhauser, Andrew Keenan-Bolger, as well as members of the ensemble, performed selections from the production, including “King of New York” and “Seize the Day.”. Also on hand were book writer Harvey Fierstein and lyricist Jack Feldman.

Set in New York City at the turn of the last century, the show tells the story of Jack Kelly (played by Jordan), a charismatic newsboy who organizes a union and a strike when newspaper prices are suddenly raised.
