Reeve Carney and Rebecca Faulkenberry, who respectively star as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Mary Jane Watson in the Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark at the Foxwoods Theatre, posed with Dr. Kenneth Culver, the latest individual to be honored as part of the musical’s “Everyday Heroes” initiative on Friday, May 18.

Culver is the founder of “The Foundation for Peace” which provides individuals in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, and Kenya with healthcare and education.

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is inspired by over 40 years of Marvel comic books. It follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and must learn that with great powers comes great responsibility.

The production features creative consultation by Philip William McKinley, original direction by Julie Taymor, music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, and book co-written by Taymor, Glen Berger, and Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
