The Broadway revival of Journey’s End, R.C. Sherriff’s blistering play about soldiers in World War I, opened to rapturous reviews last night. Seen here celebrating after the performance are the show’s leading men, Boyd Gaines, Jefferson Mays, Hugh Dancy, and Stark Sands.
Among the celebrities who came out for the opening were the lovely Jane Krakowski…
…and her Nine co-star Mary Stuart Masterson.
Also on hand were the fabulous Lynn Redgrave, whose big sister Vanessa returns to Broadway next month in The Year of Magical Thinking…
…and the wonderful actress and singer Liz Callaway.
Yesterday afternoon, Tony Danza became the latest star to have his caricature unveiled at Sardi’s, for subsequent addition to the walls of the world-famous restaurant.
Danza was joined for the unveiling by Broadway veteran Lee Roy Reams, his co-star in the Broadway production of The Producers.
On Wednesday night, Broadway veteran Charlotte Rae made a special appearance at Barnes & Noble’s Lincoln Triangle store as part of the Any Wednesday series, performing selections from her recording Songs I Taught My Mother, made 50 years ago and recently re-released by PS Classics.
Lots of Rae’s friends and fans turned out for the event, including Oscar-winning actress Olympia Dukakis and her talented husband, Louis Zorich.
On Sunday, the Vineyard Theatre officially opened its production of J.M. Barrie’s drama Mary Rose. Paige Howard, who plays the title role, and Keir Dullea, the show’s narrator, celebrated after the performance at the nearby restaurant Link.
At the party, Mary Rose co-star Betsy Aidem (right) caught up with Penny Fuller, who starred in the Vineyard’s production of Beautiful Child.
Here are three more Vineyard alumni: Susan Blackwell, Hunter Bell, and Jeff Bowen, who starred in and created the hit musical [title of show].
Sunday also marked the opening of The Coast of Utopia, Part III — Salvage, the concluding chapter in Tom Stoppard’s ambitious trilogy. Here are four of the show’s stars: Ethan Hawke, Brían F. O’Byrne, Josh Hamilton, and Jason Butler Harner.
