Annapurna Theatre has announced that Phoebe Waller-Bridge will bring her award-winning solo play Fleabag to New York for a five-week limited engagement at SoHo Playhouse February 28, 2019-April 7, 2019, with opening night set for March 7, 2019. The run will mark the performer's New York stage debut. It will be directed by Waller-Bridge's longtime collaborator, Vicky Jones.

Fleabag debuted at the Edinburgh Festival in 2013 and won a Fringe First Award. It went on to play the Soho Theatre in London (revived in 2014 and 2016), before touring the UK (2015 and 2018), South Korea (2014), and Australia (2018), and an Edinburgh Festival revival as part of the British Council Edinburgh Showcase (2017), produced by Waller-Bridge's production company, DryWrite, and Soho Theatre. It was later adapted into a BBC Television series in partnership with Amazon Prime in 2016. Waller-Bridge is also the creator of the Emmy-nominated BBC America series Killing Eve, starring Sandra Oh, which is currently in production for its second season.

The play is described as "a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose."

The creative team will feature Holly Pigott (scenic design), Elliot Griggs (lighting design), and Isobel Waller-Bridge (sound design).
