The two year off-Broadway run of Elan Wolf Farbiarz and Cory Terry’s Channeling Kevin Spacey will come to a close on February 17 at the Roy Arias Theatre at the Times Square Art Center, the shows producers, Wolf and William Productions announced today.
The play, which is also directed by Farviarz, focuses on Charlie, a film buff and a pushover who shuffles through life like a Kevin Spacey character. Charlie finally resolves to take charge of his destiny by morphing into the real-life versions of Al Pacino’s most famous characters.
David Michaels (Oklahoma! National tour) stars as Charlie alongside Jamil Chokachi (Cabaret national tour), who plays the shows multiple other characters.
Channeling Kevin Spacey premiered at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival in July 2008, where it won the Best of Fest award and then moved on to other festivals including The Edmonton Fringe and Toronto Fringe Festival, winning the Best of Fest award at both.
