The New York premiere of Of Good Stock, a new play by Melissa Ross (Thinner Than Water, Too Much Too Soon), has been added to Manhattan Theatre Club's 2014-15 season. The show replaces Richard Greenberg's previously announced The Swing of the Sea, which has been postponed "to give these artists more time to work on the production of the play." Lynne Meadow, who was slated to direct The Swing of the Sea, will direct the new production, set to begin performances June 2 at New York City Center – Stage I in advance of a June 23 opening.

Of Good Stock follows the three Stockton sisters who — though witty, brilliant, and beautiful — are a total mess, thanks to the legacy of their complicated novelist father. As the women gather at their family home on Cape Cod for a summer weekend, the reunion reignites their family dysfunction.

The creative team for Of Good Stock will include Santo Loquasto (scenic design), Tom Broecker (costume design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), and Jill BC Du Boff (sound design). Casting will be announced in the coming weeks.
