North American Tour of Beautiful Names Its Newest Stars

New casting has been announced for the North American tour of the hit Broadway musical Beautiful — The Carole King Musical.

Sarah Bockel will lead the cast as Carole King, along with Andrew Brewer (Gerry Goffin), Sarah Goeke (Cynthia Weil), and Jacob Heimer (Barry Mann), beginning September 12 in Fort Worth, Texas. They will join a company that also features James Clow (Don Kirshner) and Suzanne Grodner (Genie Klein). The ensemble of Beautiful includes McKynleigh Alden Abraham, Jordan Edwin André, TyNia René Brandon, Josh A. Dawson, John Michael Dias, Matt Faucher, Kaylee Harwood, Willie Hill, James Michael Lambert, Traci Elaine Lee, Jay McKenzie, Aashley Morgan, Elena Ricardo, Ximone Rose, Nathan Scherich, LaQuet Sharnell Pringle, Avery Smith, Alexis Tidwell, and Kristopher Stanley Ward.

The company of Beautiful is currently performing in Toronto’s Ed Mirvish Theatre through September 3. The musical then returns to the United States with an engagement in Fort Worth’s Bass Hall from September 12-17 before playing Plaza Theatre in El Paso, the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City, and Centennial Hall in Tucson, among others.

With a book by Douglas McGrath and songs from the music catalogue of Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann, and Cynthia Weil, Beautiful officially opened at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on January 12, 2014, earning seven Tony nominations. The show follows the life and career of singer-songwriter King and colleagues Goffin, Mann, and Weil, and features songs including "Will You Love Me Tomorrow," "One Fine Day," and "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman," among others.
