Ars Nova and the Play Company will present a new rock-theater-event from the Brooklyn-based indie-pop band Sky-Pony. Directed by Tony nominee Sam Buntrock (Sunday in the Park With George), the production will run in February and March 2016 at Ars Nova.

Featuring songs by Kyle Jarrow and text by Jarrow and Tony nominee Lauren Worsham (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder), the show will be performed by the band itself, the members of which also include guitarist Kevin Wunderlich, drummer Perry Silver, bassist Eric Day, cellist David Blasher, and backup singers Jessi Suzuki, Lizzie O'Hara, and Kristin Piacentile.

The Play Company's 15th season will kick off with the American premiere of Maria Milisavljevic's Abyss, directed by Maria Mileaf. The drama, which concerns a group of friends on the hunt for one of their missing cohorts, runs from November 7-December 6 at Theaterlab.

Also on the docket are Haruki Murakami’s Sleep, adapted for the stage by Naomi Iizuka and directed by Rachel Dickstein (February 26-28 at the Japan Society), and Christopher Chien's Caught, a genre-bending piece that spotlights the Chinese dissident artist Lin Bo. The work will run in May and June 2016.
