Tony Winner John Rubinstein Joins Cast of Notebook North American Tour

The North American tour of The Notebook has announced new and returning cast members for its second year on the road, starting on September 22 in Detroit. Tour stops for the second year also include Boston, Houston, Dallas, Ft. Lauderdale, and Atlanta.

John Rubinstein, who originated the title role in Pippin and won a Tony for Children of a Lesser God, joins the cast as Older Noah. Rubinstein will be joined by new cast members Angela Birchett as Older Allie, Makena Jackson as Younger Allie, and Yassmin Alers, Sinclair Mitchell, Jessica Money, Leonay Reina, and Dawn L. Troupe as ensemble and swings.

Continuing with the tour are Alysha Deslorieux as Middle Allie, Ken Wulf Clark as Middle Noah, Kyle Mangold as Younger Noah, Anne Tolpegin as Mother/Nurse Lori, and Connor Richardson as Johnny, as well as ensemble members and swings Jordi Betrán Ramírez, Nick Brogan, Jesse Corbin, Aaron Ramey, Samantha Rios, Grace Ohwensadeyo Rundberg, and Joe Verga.

Featuring music and lyrics by Ingrid Michaelson and a book by Bekah Brunstetter, The Notebook is based on the book and film about Allie and Noah, two people from different worlds who share a lifetime of love despite the forces that threaten to pull them apart.

The production is directed by Michael Greif and Schele Williams, with choreography by Katie Spelman. The creative team for the tour also includes scenic designers David Zinn and Brett J. Banakis, costume designer Paloma Young, lighting designer Ben Stanton, sound designer Nevin Steinberg, hair and wig designer Mia Neal, projection designer Lucy Mackinnon, music supervisor Carmel Dean, who also collaborated on arrangements with Ingrid Michaelson and on orchestrations with John Clancy, and music director Tina Faye.
