New Jersey Repertory Company, in Long Branch, has announced the lineup of productions for its 2016 season.

Substance of Bliss, a world premiere by Tony Glazer, will run from January 14-February 14, 2016. The story follows parents Paul and Donna, who sit in the backyard of their home, late at night, waiting for their troubled 15-year-old son to return so that they can take him to a drug rehabilitation center.

The world premiere of For Worse, written by Deborah Rennard, will follow, running from March 10-April 10, 2016. The play tells the story of Peter, who, after three daughters and 30 years of marriage, tells his wife he's fallen in love with another woman. While Peter's girlfriend has given him an ultimatum to leave his wife or it’s all over, his wife still wants to make their relationship work.

Victor L. Cahn's Villainous Company then makes its New Jersey premiere, running from May 5-June 5, 2016. The story begins when Claire returns home from an afternoon of shopping and discovers that one of her packages is missing. Just as she is calling the store, a staff member stops by to return the item and subsequently manages to invite herself inside, initiating a suspenseful game of cat and mouse.

The world premiere of Sandy Rustin's Struck will be next, running from June 30-July 31, 2016. The story follows the unexpected connection that develops between Vera Resnick and a college-aged kid who struck her with a bicycle while crossing an East Village intersection.

Two additional productions to be announced will run from August 25-September 25, 2016, and from October 20-November 20, 2016.

NJ Rep is currently performing Rick Viede's satirical play Nobody's Girl, set to close on September 20. The world premiere of Bryan Delaney's The Seedbed will be next at the theater, running from October 15-November 15.
