NBC’s new musical drama Smash will debut on February 6, according to published reports.
The show will go behind-the-scenes of the creation of a new Broadway musical about Marilyn Monroe.
The series will star Debra Messing, Megan Hilty, Christian Borle, Anjelica Huston, Jack Davenport, Brian d’Arcy James, and Katharine McPhee.
The series pilot script was written by playwright Theresa Rebeck. Tony Award winners Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman will provide original songs for the series. Tony Award winner Michael Mayer has directed the pilot episode.
