
Mitzi Hamilton will direct Ocean State Theatre Company’s production of A Chorus Line, to run June 2-20 at Theatre by the Sea. Casting for the production will be announced at a later date.
Hamilton provided the inspiration for the character of Val in the original Michael Bennett production of A Chorus Line, and later performed the role in the original London Company and then on Broadway.
As a performer, Hamilton has also been seen on Broadway in Cabaret, Pippin, Applause, Seesaw, On the Town and King of Hearts. As a choreographer, she received a Jeff Award for her work on Sweet Charity at the Drury Lane Oakbrook Theatre in Illinois. Among her directing credits are Damn Yankees, Gypsy, 42nd Street, Cats, West Side Story, and Chicago. Hamilton has previously staged A Chorus Line for Capitol Teatr in Wroclaw, Poland.
