”Wicked”’s Emma Hunton, ”Hamilton”’s Ephraim Sykes, and more are set to participate.
Mitchell Jarvis and Justin Sargent, stars of Broadway's Rock of Ages, are set to host 54 Sings Back to the Future on August 21 and 28 at 9:30pm. The concerts will be the first in a "movie soundtracks" concert series.
The cast will feature Emma Hunton (Wicked), Ephraim Sykes (Hamilton), Van Hughes (American Idiot), and Tyce Green (Paradise Found). With music direction by Jonathan Ivie, the night will feature the classic tunes featured in the film: "Power of Love," "Mister Sandman," "Earth Angel," "Johnny B. Goode," "Back in Time," and additional songs by Huey Lewis and the News, Etta James! ZZ Top, and Alan Sylvestri.
Back to the Future, American Film Institute's "10th best film of the science fiction genre," was released July 3, 1985. It starred Michael J. Fox as Marty McFly, Christopher Lloyd as Dr. Emmett "Doc" Brown, Lea Thompson as Lorraine Baines-McFly, and Crispin Glover as George McFly, and more.
