Two River Theater has announced that it will present six performances of Mike Birbiglia's new solo show The New One July 18-22, just before its off-Broadway premiere at the Cherry Lane Theatre (July 26-August 25).

Birbiglia describes the solo show as follows: "I hate it when people tell me what anything is about or really any details at all. Last year I loved Lady Bird, Get Out, and The Big Sick and my greatest gift to my friends was to tell them to see those movies and don't read anything about them. So that's what I'm telling the people interested in this show. If you liked my other shows and movies, I think you'll love The New One."

Directed by Seth Barrish, who helmed Birbiglia's Thank God for Jokes, My Girlfriend's Boyfriend, and Sleepwalk With Me, the production will have set design by Beowulf Borritt. It is produced by Joseph Birbiglia and Mike Lavoie.
