Drew Droege penned and stars in the acclaimed solo show.
Drew Droege's acclaimed solo show Bright Colors and Bold Patterns will return to the Barrow Street Theatre for a three-week engagement this winter, December 15-30. The show played a three-night engagement at the venue earlier this fall.
Written and performed by Droege (Drunk History, Bob's Burgers), Bright Colors and Bold Patterns is a solo comedy that delves into the topic of gay marriage. The story is described as follows: "Josh and Brennan are about to get married in Palm Springs on a lovely Saturday afternoon. However, the night before becomes a drunken, drug-fueled scream riot, because their friend Gerry has arrived, furious that their invitation says, 'Please refrain from wearing bright colors or bold patterns.' In the struggle for equality, what do we really want? What do we lose? And is there any cocaine left?"
The show is directed by two-time Drama Desk winner Michael Urie (Buyer & Cellar, Ugly Betty), with set design by Dara Wishingrad. Form Theatricals produces.
