Stage and screen star Melanie Griffith will receive the Munich Film Festival’s first lifetime achievement prize, the CineMerit Award, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The festival, which runs June 29-July 7, will be screening the world premiere of her new film, The Grief Tourist, as well as a retrospective of her films.
Griffith is currently appearing onstage in Los Angeles in Scott Caan’s world premiere play No Way Around But Through, at the Falcon Theatre. She played the role of Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway. The actress received an Academy Award nomination and a Golden Globe Award for Working Girl, with other film and TV credits including Born Yesterday, Mulholland Falls, Nobody’s Fool, Another Day in Paradise, Celebrity, and RKO 281.
