The stars of the upcoming national tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound of Music met the press at their rehearsal studio on September 3. Directed by Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien, the production is choreographed by Danny Mefford and kicks off September 20 at the Ahmanson Theatre in Los Angeles.
Kerstin Anderson, Ben Davis, and Ashley Brown lead the company as Maria Rainer, Captain Georg von Trapp, and the Mother Abbess, respectively. The principal cast also includes Merwin Foard (Max Detweiler), Teri Hansen (Elsa Schraeder), Paige Silvester (Liesl), and Dan Tracy (Rolf), with Erich Schuett, Maria Knasel, Quinn Erickson, Svea Johnson, Mackenzie Currie, and Audrey Bennett as the von Trapp children.
The ensemble is made up of Carey Rebecca Brown, Ron Brown, Caitlin Burke, Christopher Carl, Kyla Carter, Austin Colby, Daniella Dalli, Elisabeth Evans, Donna Garner, Meghan Hales, Adam Hill, Jenavene Hester, Jeremy Lanuti, Darren Matthias, Kelly McCormick, Julia Osborne, Andrea Ross, Brent Schindele, and Jim Schubin.
The production will feature scenic design by Douglas Schmidt, costumes by Jane Greenwood, lighting by Natasha Katz, and sound by Ken Travis.
