David Hyde Pierce directs David Lindsay-Abaire’s new comedy.
The cast and creative team behind Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming production of the new comedy Ripcord met the press at their rehearsal studio on September 9. The play begins performances at MTC's New York City Center – Stage I space beginning September 29 and opens October 20.
Written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire and directed by Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce, the production stars Marylouise Burke (Fish in the Dark), Emmy winner Holland Taylor (Ann), Rachel Dratch (Saturday Night Live), Glenn Fitzgerald (The Sixth Sense), Daoud Heidami (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo), and Nate Miller (Of Good Stock).
Taylor plays Abby, a cantankerous tenant at the Bristol Palace Assisted Living Facility, who is forced to share her quarters with the infuriatingly chipper Marilyn (Drama Desk winner Burke), and turns their relationship into a dangerous game of one-upmanship.
