Mary Birdsong Joins the Cast of Seth Rudetsky’s Disaster!

Michele Ragusa will depart the production later this week.

Mary Birdsong (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Reno 911) will join the cast of the off-Broadway musical Disaster! The Musical on Monday, December 9. She will take over the role of lounge singer Jackie from Michele Ragusa, who will play her last performance at the St. Luke's Theatre on Friday, December 6.

Sirius/XM Satellite Radio personality and Broadway accompanist Seth Rudetsky penned the 1970s disaster-movie send-up with Jack Plotnick, who also directs. The musical incorporates a number of hit songs from the ’70s including “Hot Stuff,” “Don't Bring Me Down,” “I Am Woman,” “Alone Again Naturally,” “Signed Sealed Delivered,” “Knock On Wood,” “Daybreak,” “Sky High,” and more.

Birdsong joins a cast that features two-time Tony Award nominee Mary Testa, (Xanadu, Queen of the Mist), Sherz Aletaha, Haven Burton (Shrek), Paul Castree (Young Frankenstein), Kristy Cavenaugh, Charity Dawson, Saum Eskandani, Matt Farcher, Drew Geraci (The Scarlet Pimpernel), Ashanti J’Aria (Saturday Night Fever), Maggie McDowell, Jack Plotnick, Tom Riis Farrell (Chicago), Seth Rudetsky (The Ritz), Robb Sapp (Wicked), Jennifer Simard (Sister Act), and Jonah Verdon.
