Mare Winningham and More Set for World Premiere of Dan LeFranc's Rancho Viejo

Playwrights Horizons has announced complete casting for the world premiere of Dan LeFranc's new play Rancho Viejo.

Commissioned by Playwrights Horizons and directed by Daniel Aukin (Placebo), the production will begin previews November 11 with an opening night set for December 6. The limited engagement is currently scheduled to play through December 23.

The show's cast will include Ruth Aguilar, Mark Blum (The Assembled Parties), Bill Buell (Noises Off), Ethan Dubin, Julia Duffy (Once in a Lifetime), Tyrone Mitchell Henderson (Bring in ‘Da Noise, Bring in ‘Da Funk), Lusia Strus (Elling), Mare Winningham (Casa Valentina), and Mark Zeisler (The Big Knife).

The plot of Rancho Viejo is described as follows: "We never meet young Richie and Lonna, whose marriage is on the rocks. But miles and miles away, in the affluent southwestern suburb where their parents live, this couple’s separation is disturbing the tranquility of a community they’ve barely met."

The production will feature scenic design by Dane Laffrey, costume design by Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Matt Frey, and sound design by Tony Award winner Leon Rothenberg. Animals are provided by Tony Award-winning William Berloni Theatrical Animals.
