Lynn Nottage will celebrate TCG’s publication of her Pulitzer Prize-winning play Ruined at the Drama Book Shop, on Friday, October 30 at 5:30pm.

Saidah Arrika Ekulona, who originated the lead role of Mama Nadi in the play both in Chicago and New York, will join her for a reading and discussion. David Cote will moderate. In addition, Nottage will sign copies of her books, which also include Intimate Apparel and Fabulation, or The Re-Education of Undine: Two Plays, and her first collection, Crumbs from the Table of Joy and Other Plays.

Ruined is set in the brutally war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo, in a rainforest bar and brothel where shrewd matriarch Mama Nadi both protects and profits from the women whose bodies have become battlegrounds between government soldiers and rebel forces alike.
