Lisa Kron and Leigh Silverman to Speak at Drama Book Shop

Lisa Kron and Leigh Silverman, the writer/author and director of Well, will give a free talk at the Drama Book Shop (250 West 40th Street) at 6pm on Monday, May 15. Sponsored by TheaterMania, the event is being held in conjunction with the publication of the new TCG edition of the play.

Well focuses on issues of illness and wellness as well as Kron’s relationship with her mother Ann. The show will conclude its Broadway run on Sunday, May 14; it previously played The Public Theater in 2004, earning rave reviews.

Kron’s other plays include 101 Humiliating Stories and 2.5 Minute Ride. With the Five Lesbian Brothers, she created and performed in such plays as Oedipus in Palm Springs, which won this year’s GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Broadway/Off-Broadway Play. That show was also directed by Silverman, whose other credits include the Second Stage revival of Danny and the Deep Blue Sea.

Reservations are suggested for the May 15 talk; call 212-944-0595, ext. 417.
